The McClurg Family Focus of April 20 Program

The continuing influence James McClurg has on Westfield and the region will be illustrated as part of the Chautauqua County Historical Society’s annual meeting on April 20.

The meeting, which begins at 10 a.m., and the program, presented by CCHS trustee Michelle Henry, will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Westfield. The event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

CCHS members will elect new board members during the meeting.

Besides describing the lives of McClurg, his siblings, and his children, Henry will illustrate the impact they had on the region after deciding to build a home and businesses in Westfield in the early 1800s.

Henry will also provide details on the development of Westfield's downtown as it relates to the McClurg Museum.

The Chautauqua County Historical Society is based at McClurg Museum in Westfield. For more information on programs and events, visit cchsmcclurg.org or contact the historical society at 716.326.2977 or info@cchsmcclurg.org.
